Election Candidate and Third Party Appointments Schedule

Please select an appointment time from the calendar below.

For more information about becoming a municipal election candidate, please visit the Candidates Information page.

Reminder: You are not officially nominated until after your appointment with the City Clerk's Office and until that time you are not permitted to make any campaign expense, receive any campaign donations, place any election sign, or conduct any other prohibitted activity under the Municipal Elections Act or Municipal Policy or By-law.

25 Endorsement Signatures Required: All prospective candidates for City Council (Mayor or Councillor, not School Board Trustee) are required to collect 25 endorsement signatures:

  • All persons endorsing a nomination must be eligible to vote in an election for an office within Kawartha Lakes, if a regular election was held on the day that the person endorses the nomination;
  • Endorsements must be completed and signed on Form 2 (print multiple copies, as Form 2 only allows for 5 endorsements);
  • Collecting more than 25 endorsements is good practice in case one endorsement is completed incorrectly;
  • Each person who signs the candidate's endorsement may endorse more than one nomination;
  • School Board Trustee candidates do not require endorsements.

Appointment to be held at Kawartha Lakes City Hall (26 Francis Street, Lindsay - Use Colborne St. Doors)
